Beyond Time Management

Practical tools to stay organised, focused, and resilient

Why It Matters

According to Antoine's own research, the single quality clients value most in their lawyers is responsiveness. Reacting immediately has become the norm lawyers are expected to meet. Constant interruptions, unpredictable emergencies, and conflicting priorities have become normal working conditions.

This results in contradictory messages: block time for deep work, but be available at once when a partner or a client needs you. Work more efficiently, but reach your daily target of billable hours. Protect your work-life balance, but go the extra mile and exceed expectations. This may produce a mental load that can progressively become counter-productive and even overwhelming.

Traditional time management techniques don't work anymore. They were based on the assumption that you could plan their day and control your environment. That assumption no longer holds. A new approach is needed. AI does not solve the problem; it makes it even worse: the pace of business is accelerating and the number of length of documents to review is expanding.

This course does not pretend the tension between these contradictory pressures will disappear. Nor is it a course about meditating away your workload problem. It gives you simple, practical ways to organise yourself inside a demanding professional environment.

Content

The training is very practical, mixing short explanations with interactive discussions and practical tips:

  • Facing reality. The pressure is on and will not ease up. How are you coping?

  • Self-organisation. Traditional planning tools were built for a controllable, predictable day. They still belong to your self-management toolkit and deserve to be learned, but you also need more flexible, agile ways to focus your energy and organise your work: how to reprioritise on the fly, seize opportunities, capture and triage what comes at them in real time, surf through the day and plan just enough to stay in control.

  • Stress management and resilience. Beyond self-organisation, self-management is also about taking care of your resilience: your ability to process stress. You will learn tips and method to protect and strenghten your mental energy (including the basics of emotional intelligence) and physical energy. We don’t suggesgt you should disappear to a yoga studio in the middle of a working afternoon; the training focuses on simple techniques that fit inside the normal working day.
